A native of the Lowcountry, Robert Lacey joins the O-Ku Charleston team as general manager with over five years of management experience in the food and beverage industry in numerous cities along the east coast.
Prior to joining O-Ku, Lacey served as assistant general manager at The Pinot Group in Charleston for two years where he refined his knowledge of Southern hospitality. Before his arrival to the Holy City, Lacey worked as assistant general manager at The Wicked Tuna in Murrell’s Inlet. From 2014 to 2015, Lacey served as general manager for Bareburger in New York City, an organic burger restaurant with locations around the world, and before that, he was the bar manager at Chelsea Grill of Hell’s Kitchen. A graduate of Coastal Carolina University, Lacey kicked off his career in hospitality as a bartender at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach.
Outside of the restaurant, Lacey can be found strolling through the city taking in Charleston’s rich history. He also enjoys relaxing on the beach, playing basketball and trying out new Charleston restaurants.
